22.5 InchesRed CedarReed IncludedWider Finger Spacing

Ideal for: Learners with larger hands, and pipers who want practice spacing closer to the full pipe chanter

A long practice chanter with wider finger spacing.

This Roosebeck long practice chanter is about 22.5 inches assembled, with finger holes spaced a little wider than the standard chanter, closer to the feel of a full pipe chanter. Red cedar body, engraved nickel plated ferrule and sole, reed included.

Your First Step to the Pipes

Every piper starts on the practice chanter. It has the same fingering as the bagpipe chanter but a quiet reed and no bag, so you can learn the scale, the grace notes and your first tunes before taking on the full instrument.
