Roosebeck Tenor Lute-kulele — Variegated
Roosebeck Tenor Lute-kulele — Variegated
Ideal for: Classical and fingerstyle ukulele players who want something distinctive
Our lute-ukulele hybrid, showcasing alternating tonewoods.
The Lute-kulele is a format we invented, a hybrid between a ukulele and a Renaissance lute. The Variegated edition showcases the beautiful contrast of alternating sheesham and lacewood staves in the round-back bowl. That visual pattern is more than decorative, the combination of two different tonewoods creates a nuanced, complex voice with both warmth and clarity.
Nuanced, Complex Tenor Voice
Two different tonewoods in the bowl create a more nuanced voice than a single-wood construction. Sheesham adds warmth and resonance; lacewood contributes clarity and articulation. The result is a complex, rewarding tone that responds beautifully to fingerstyle playing.
Six Strings, Doubled Courses, Historical Rosette
Six strings on a 430mm tenor scale, with doubled second and third courses for rich, full sound. The European spruce soundboard features a rosette design based on historical lute examples. Cattle-bone nut and saddle, sheesham bridge, and friction tuners complete the setup.
A Distinctive Instrument in the Ukulele World
A unique instrument that draws attention for both its sound and its appearance. Perfect for players who want something distinctive in the ukulele world. The visual pattern of alternating staves is striking, and the voice stands apart from any production ukulele.
