Roosebeck 18" Tunable Bodhran, T-Bar Black Mulberry

18-Inch Tunable T-Bar Mulberry Shell Black Finish Full-Size

Ideal for: Professional players and loud ensemble settings

Maximum bass, maximum projection.

The 18-inch bodhran is the choice for players who want maximum volume and the deepest possible bass response. Eighteen inches is the traditional full-size bodhran diameter, preferred by many professional players who prioritize bass depth and projection.

Deep Bass That Fills the Room

That extra diameter translates directly into more low-end power. When you want the bodhran to fill a room, this is the drum to reach for. Natural goatskin responds dynamically to your technique, from gentle brushwork to full-power strokes.

Why bigger means more bass: Larger drum heads produce lower fundamental frequencies. An 18-inch bodhran can produce notes and resonances that a 14- or 16-inch simply can't reach.

Commanding Black Finish, Responsive Tuning

The mulberry shell in black finish gives the drum a commanding stage presence. The T-bar inside tuning system handles the larger head with the same ease and precision as the smaller models, so size doesn't mean a harder-to-tune drum.

Tuning a larger bodhran: Despite the bigger head, the T-bar system makes tension adjustment just as quick as it is on a 14- or 16-inch drum.

Built for Loud Ensembles

If you play in louder ensembles or need your bodhran to cut through other instruments without amplification, the 18-inch delivers. This is the preferred size for many professional players who prioritize bass depth and acoustic projection.

Is 18 inches right for you? If you primarily play in small sessions or solo, a 16-inch may be more practical. If you regularly play in larger ensembles or need to fill a room without a PA, the 18-inch is the right call.
