19-String 2.5 Octaves Chelby Levers Non-Standing (Lap) Engraved Walnut, Thistle

Ideal for: Children and younger students, and anyone who wants a lighter lap or tabletop harp

The Pixie voice, in a lighter lap-held frame.

This Pixie Harp is the non-standing version, designed to play on the lap or a tabletop rather than to stand on the floor. At about 28 inches tall and 7.1 pounds, it's lighter and more compact than the standing Pixie, which makes it well suited to children and younger students. It carries the same 19 strings, Chelby levers, and color-coded learning system, in an engraved and inlaid walnut frame with a thistle motif.

Clear, Bright Tone with Real Projection

Nineteen DuPont hard nylon strings cover 2.5 octaves from F3 to C6, enough range for hundreds of songs, exercises, and arrangements. A solid walnut frame paired with a Finnish birch plywood soundboard produces a clear, bright tone with noticeably good projection for the harp's size.

About the strings: DuPont hard nylon is the standard on quality lever harps. It holds tuning well, feels comfortable under the fingers, and produces a focused tone that cuts through in both solo playing and small ensembles.

Engraved Walnut Frame, Chelby Levers

The frame is engraved and inlaid walnut with a thistle motif. Every string has its own Chelby sharpening lever, so you can change keys on the fly without retuning. The Chelby design engages the string from the side, which prevents strings from lifting off the bridge pins, a common frustration with cheaper lever designs.

Red and blue caps on the C and F levers make navigation intuitive, and each lever can be fine-tuned with a hex wrench for precise intonation.

Standing or non-standing? The standing Pixie rests on the floor; this non-standing version is built to be held on the lap or set on a table. It is lighter and a little smaller, which is what makes it a good fit for children and younger players.

Designed to Make Learning Easier

Color-coded strings (red for C, blue for F, clear for all others) make learning to play significantly easier. You can find your position on the strings at a glance, which is a huge help when you are working through your first pieces or sight-reading from sheet music.

The harp ships set up, a few small tuning adjustments with the included tool, and you are making music.

New to harp? The color-coded strings are the same system used in harp education worldwide. Red = C, blue = F. Once you know those two anchor points, everything else falls into place naturally.
