29-String 4 Octaves Chelby Levers Solid Rosewood

Ideal for: Serious students, advancing players, and performing musicians

Roosebeck's flagship Celtic harp, in the edition that started it all.

The Minstrel Harp is Roosebeck's flagship Celtic harp, and this Thistle edition is the one that started it all. Twenty-nine DuPont nylon strings span four full octaves from C3 to C7, giving you the range to tackle virtually any Celtic, classical, or folk arrangement.

Warm, Resonant, and Ready for the Room

The engraved and inlaid rosewood frame pairs with a Finnish birch plywood soundboard for a warm, resonant voice with excellent projection. Four full octaves from C3 to C7 means the repertoire is wide open, whether you're playing intimate folk arrangements or working through classical literature.

About the Finnish birch soundboard: Finnish birch plywood is an established tonewood in Scandinavian lutherie. It's consistent, stable, and projects clearly across the full frequency range of a large harp.

Hand-Carved Thistle and Chelby Levers

Hand-carved thistle designs adorn the solid rosewood side panels, giving the instrument a dignified presence that suits everything from practice rooms to performance stages.

Every string has its own Chelby lever, the mechanically superior design that engages from the side to prevent string lift-off. Color-coded lever caps (red for C, blue for F) make key changes fast and confident. Bridge pins are adjustable with a hex wrench for precise intonation.

Why Chelby levers matter: Cheap levers can buzz, slip, or pull strings out of position when engaged. Chelby levers stay precisely in place and deliver a clean half-step every time, which matters when you're performing.

The Harp That Grows With You

At approximately 36.5 inches tall and 14.6 pounds, the Minstrel has enough presence for stage performances while remaining transportable for lessons and sessions. This is the harp that grows with you from intermediate study through advanced repertoire, and beyond.

Moving up from a smaller harp? The extra octave adds a huge section of standard repertoire. You'll find pieces that were out of reach on a 22-string harp suddenly sitting comfortably under your hands.
