Roosebeck Lily Harp 8-String, Mini Celtic Harp Knotwork

8-String 15" Tall Hand-Carved Rosewood Knotwork Design Best Seller

Ideal for: Absolute beginners, gift buyers, and anyone who loves the sound and look of a desktop harp

A hand-carved beginner harp small enough to live on your desk.

The Lily Harp is one of the most popular ways to start playing harp without committing to a full-size instrument. At 15 inches tall with 8 DuPont nylon strings, it sits comfortably on a desk or shelf, plays simple melodies right out of the box, and doubles as a stunning piece of decor when you are not playing. The hand-carved rosewood frame features traditional Celtic knotwork that gives every harp its own subtle character.

Bright, Pluckable Tone in a Small Package

Eight DuPont hard nylon strings tuned from middle C to high C give the Lily a clear, bright voice that carries surprisingly well for an instrument this size. Pluck across all eight strings and you have an immediate, satisfying chord. It is a true playable instrument, not a toy.

About DuPont nylon: The same nylon used in our larger Celtic harps. It holds tune well, resists humidity changes, and produces a warm, even tone across the full range.

Hand-Carved Rosewood with Celtic Knotwork

The rosewood frame is hand-engraved with traditional Celtic knotwork. Because each frame is carved by hand, the natural wood grain and inlay details vary slightly from harp to harp. Yours will be one of a kind.

At 15 inches tall and under 2 pounds, the Lily fits on any desk, shelf, or bedside table. When you are not playing, it makes a striking visual piece.

Why rosewood: A dense, warm-toned hardwood that has been used for fine instruments for centuries. The Lily's small frame benefits from its density, which keeps the sound focused and resonant.

Pluck and Play, No Levers Needed

The Lily is an unlevered, diatonic harp, meaning you tune it to a single key and play within that key. Most players start in C major, which gives you all the white-key notes on a piano. Simple folk melodies, lullabies, and chord progressions sit comfortably under your fingers.

New to harp? An unlevered harp is the most forgiving way to start. There is no lever mechanism to fuss with, no sharps or flats to navigate. Tune it once, sit down, and play.
