The Baroq-ulele is our own design, a hybrid ukulele with a round-back lute bowl, and the Concert is the most familiar size in the family. It pairs the concert ukulele scale and GCEA tuning that most players learn on with the resonance of a rosewood bowl body, so it feels immediately at home in your hands while sounding like nothing else on the shelf.

Bright, Resonant Concert Voice

The Concert is the classic ukulele voice of the family, bright and sweet with clear articulation. What sets it apart from a flat-back concert uke is the rosewood bowl: it adds resonance and sustain, giving a compact instrument a surprisingly large acoustic footprint.

About concert size: At a 375mm (14.75 inch) scale, the Concert sits right in the standard concert ukulele range, so it feels familiar to anyone who has played a uke before. The round-back bowl is what changes the voice, lending that familiar concert tone more body and ring than a standard flat-back build.

German Round-Back Design, 17th-Century Rosette

The round-back body is constructed from rosewood staves in a bowl shape inspired by the German round-back guitar. The European spruce soundboard features a four-point rosette design taken from a 17th-century lute, a distinctive visual detail that sets this apart from any production ukulele.

The neck is solid rosewood with a 36mm (1 7/16 inch) cattle-bone nut, and the rosewood bridge carries a genuine cattle-bone saddle for precise intonation. Standard friction ukulele tuners with adjustable tension screws hold pitch reliably, and an end-pin strap button completes a well-appointed instrument.

Why the round-back bowl: The rounded bowl shape, borrowed from lute construction, projects sound differently than a flat-back ukulele. The result is a more focused, resonant voice with a surprisingly large acoustic footprint.

The Baroq-ulele doesn't exist anywhere else, we invented it. For players who love the ukulele but want historical character and a bowl-back voice, the Concert delivers something no other maker offers, in the size most players already know.

New to concert ukulele: Concert uke is tuned GCEA, the standard tuning taught in most lessons and songbooks, so it is an easy place to start. The Baroq-ulele bowl and lute rosette just add character on top of that familiar tuning.
