22-String3 OctavesSolid RosewoodBirch SoundboardGig Bag Included
Ideal for: Beginners who want a full three-octave range without the size or price of a Celtic floor harp
A 22-string lap harp with three full octaves, ready to travel.
The Lute Harp is a clever bit of design. It gives you 22 nylon strings and a full three-octave range in a flat, lap-friendly body that fits in the included gig bag. Strings run from tuning pegs on the curved neck down to an angled bridge on the soundboard, and four soundholes in the back let the rosewood and birch plywood resonate freely. It is approachable for beginners and surprisingly capable in skilled hands.
A Full Three-Octave Voice
Twenty-two nylon strings tuned diatonically from C4 to C7 give you a complete three-octave range. The solid rosewood frame and birch plywood soundboard produce a warm, even tone, and the four rear soundholes help the instrument project clearly even when held flat on your lap.
About the four soundholes: Multiple smaller soundholes spread across the back distribute the resonance more evenly than a single large hole, giving the Lute Harp its characteristic balanced voice.
Flat-Body Design Built for Travel
The Lute Harp's flat body sets it apart from upright Celtic harps. Strings run from tuning pegs on the curved neck to an angled bridge on the soundboard, the same way a lute or zither is strung. The result is an instrument you can play on your lap, on a table, or held against your chest.
The included gig bag means it travels easily and stores compactly. At under 7 pounds, the Lute Harp is one of the most portable three-octave harps in the catalog.
Why rosewood: A dense, warm-toned hardwood used in fine instruments for centuries. The dark grain and natural figuring make every Lute Harp visually distinct.
Diatonic Tuning, Spacious String Layout
The Lute Harp is tuned diatonically — the same as the white keys on a piano — from C4 (middle C) at the longest string up to C7 at the shortest. String spacing is roughly 11–12mm, which is comfortable for both small and large hands.
New to harp? A diatonic tuning means every string you pluck is "in the key." There are no wrong notes within the scale. Pluck a few strings together and you have a chord.
