Ideal for: Beginners stepping up from a mini harp, students, and anyone who wants a true playable miniature
A 21-inch walnut harp with the warmth of a much bigger instrument.
The Baby Harp sits in a sweet spot. It is bigger and more resonant than a Lily, smaller and more approachable than a Pixie. Twelve DuPont nylon strings spanning F above middle C to high C give you enough range to play recognizable folk melodies and simple arrangements. The solid walnut frame and birch plywood soundboard produce a noticeably warmer tone than the smaller mini harps.
Warm, Mellow Tone with Real Sustain
Twelve DuPont hard nylon strings paired with a walnut frame and birch plywood soundboard produce a warm, mellow voice with real sustain. The range from F4 to C6 covers most simple folk melodies and lets you build full chord progressions in standard keys.
About walnut: Walnut is prized for warm, balanced tone. Its medium density gives the Baby Harp a softer, rounder voice compared to harder rosewood frames.
Solid Walnut, Hand-Finished
The frame is solid walnut with a smooth, hand-finished surface. Natural wood grain varies slightly from harp to harp, so yours will have its own subtle figuring. The birch plywood soundboard is engineered for strength and consistent tone across the full range.
Why ply soundboards: A high-quality plywood soundboard resists cracking from humidity changes and produces a consistent voice. It is the standard choice for mid-range harps for good reason.
Diatonic, No Levers, Easy to Pick Up
The Baby Harp is unlevered, meaning you tune it to a single key and play within that key. Most players start in C major. The 12-string range gives you enough room to play simple melodies with both hands, which is the natural next step after an 8-string mini harp.
Stepping up from a mini? The extra four strings, the larger frame, and the warmer wood all combine to make this feel like a real instrument rather than a starter piece.
